Careers with Meaning: Why You Should Work at Scout

At Scout Clean Energy, our work building the future of clean energy is fueled by dedication, expertise, passion, and an incredible work culture. Here are four reasons to come join our world-class team (have you heard we're hiring?):

Mission Driven Work Makes Meaningful Work

Scout Clean Energy's mission is clear: to power the energy transition through sustainable, high-quality renewable energy products. The wind, solar, and battery storage projects our team develops and operates are key elements in the world's transition to be a cleaner, healthier energy system. And our drive to create work that directly drives positive change for the planet makes every day impactful.

Alongside the mission-driven nature of our work, or employees lead internal resource groups that build and drive positive company-wide initiatives. Our Garden committee launched our first community garden this year, our Women's group runs a book club focused on elevating women's voices at the forefront of the climate movement, and our Sustainability Committee works to lower the carbon footprint of our operations. These groups build a strong community and create a space for Scouts to engage with their own interests and passions at work. Work without meaning is drudgery, but meaningful work is effortless!

World-Class Location

Situated in one of the most breathtaking valleys in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the city of Boulder provides the perfect headquarters for Scout Clean Energy. Our location is a pillar of our culture not only because it reminds us of Earth's natural beauty -- which we work every day to protect -- it is also a hub of sustainability, innovation, and community. With the mountains in our backyard, Scouts have easy access to hiking, biking, and skiing and often get together to enjoy getting outdoors and embracing the Boulder lifestyle if they choose. As a trailblazer in green technology and eco-friendly living, Boulder offers a beautiful place to drive a commitment to a cleaner future through cutting-edge ideas, and the view of the Boulder Flatirons from the balcony of Scout's office is hard to beat!

Our Culture is the Heart of our Work

Our commitment to fostering strong relationships creates a workplace where collaboration, creativity, and initiative thrive. Forming meaningful connections in the workplace is critical to employee and organizational well-being, and Scout creates a space where everyone feels welcomed, supported by their supervisors, and has career growth opportunities in the organization. Twice a year, Scouts get together for our All-Hands-Meetings, where the whole company comes together for three days of team building events and team-focused presentations, giving Scouts opportunities to connect with their colleagues professionally and personally. In addition, we hold outdoor park days, sponsor events at the office, go to Rockies games, and promote other opportunities for fun with the team. Becoming a Scout means joining a vibrant community of support and shared purpose.

Scout is Part of an Industry with Massive Momentum

Working at Scout offers unparalleled opportunities to get involved in an industry with remarkable momentum. As the world accelerates towards sustainability goals and the energy transition, the global renewable energy pipeline is projected to surpass 1500 gigawatts by 2030. The industry has consistently tripled its renewable energy generation every year since 2020 (there are 97 GW expected to be developed in 2030 alone!). In 2024, renewable energy is expected to account for over 75% of new power generation capacity, a testament to the sector's unprecedented expansion. And, at the heart of the industry, employees are contributing to a global mission and positioning themselves at the forefront of an industry set to create over 24 million jobs worldwide by 2030, centering Scouts' pivotal role in the global economy and clean energy transition.
